Outpatient counseling for alcohol and drug use, by secure video anywhere in Georgia. I have worked in addiction treatment since 2013 and hold an advanced addiction credential (CAADC) alongside my clinical license.
Most people I work with are still working, still showing up, and still holding it together on the outside. They just know something has gotten away from them.
The substance is usually solving a problem, even when it creates bigger ones. It may be quieting anxiety, numbing old pain, helping you sleep, or making social situations bearable. Lasting recovery means working on the use directly and on what it has been managing.
We use motivational interviewing to sort through mixed feelings honestly, and CBT and relapse prevention to map your triggers and build specific plans for the moments that matter. Goals are yours: stopping, cutting back, or getting clearer first.
When trauma, grief, or anxiety is driving the use, we treat that too, using ART and Internal Family Systems. I also coordinate with your doctor if medication for alcohol or opioid use is part of your plan.
Simple, quick, and no pressure to commit before you know it is a good fit.
I accept the plans listed here for individual therapy. Send me your member ID and I will check your benefits before the first session, so you know your copay up front.
No. Some people want to stop entirely, and others want to cut back or understand their use better first. We start where you are. I will be honest with you about what I see along the way.
No. If a 12-step group helps you, I will support it. If it never fit, there are other paths, and we will build one that works for your life.
Usually, yes. Federal parity law requires most plans to cover substance use treatment on similar terms to other medical care. I accept Aetna, Alliant, BCBS, Carelon, Cigna, Kaiser, and Providence and will verify your benefits first.
Not from me. Your records are protected under HIPAA, and I do not contact employers without your written permission. Using insurance does mean a diagnosis code is shared with your insurance company for billing; I am happy to walk through what that means for you.
No. This is individual outpatient counseling, usually weekly. If you need detox, residential care, or an IOP, I will tell you directly and help you find the right program.
Returning to use is common in recovery, and it is useful information, not a verdict on you. We look at what led up to it and build from there.
You do not need to have decided anything before you call. Plenty of people reach out still unsure whether they want to stop, and that is a perfectly good place to start.
